Given the substantial available wind resource in South Africa wind energy is the core focus of Watt Energy. The company has partnered with numerous organisations, both local and international, in order to ensure that it remains at the forefront of wind energy in South Africa thus maximising its involvement in and share of the industry.

The company's flagship projects are large wind farms with the capacity to make a significant input of clean energy into the national grid. In line with its primary objectives Watt Energy seeks to structure projects with the involvement of community beneficiaries targeting meaningful economic development, job creation and poverty alleviation in poor rural areas.

Watt Energy's medium term goal is involvement in the development of 1 000 MW of wind energy generation capacity by 2020.
